About Us

Ranji Chara
I come from a God-fearing family in Sri-Lanka – most of my family are pastors. My husband who is a medical doctor, I and our two children came to Zambia in 1982 on a contract. We planned to return back after 3 years but God had other plans for us. I taught in Sunday School in many towns my husband was transferred to andconducted prayer and counseling sessions for women up to 2000. In the year 2000 I felt strongly led to come to Livingstone to start a mission work with Street-kids and orphans. My husband and daughter joined me as I launched out in faith in March 2001, with no money but trusting God to see me through every situation I faced. And in His faithful love He did see us through not only in our humble beginnings but even up to today. Ebenezer Child-Care Trust is registered under the Government of Zambia as a charitable organization.

We have a Primary School with 304 children, an Orphanage including a Home for babies, and a farm to sustain this project. We also sponsor 42 Secondary School children for higher education at present. We are growing rapidly as God sends His love and faithfulness to the homes of poverty stricken children who are in dire need, through the hands of many awesome people around the world who have come out to help us in marvelous ways.  We are so very grateful for all the support we receive from all these wonderful people worldwide, and we want you to know that the Ebenezer work is only possible because of your willingness to help. May God bless you abundantly for your part in this work.
